High Precision Deep Groove Ball Bearings of the series SS-68
- Precision deep groove ball bearings of this thin section series 68 are manufactured to tighter tolerances than regular deep groove ball bearings. Stainless steel bearings have better corrosion resistance than deep groove ball bearings made of bearing steel. With their very thin cross section, these precision deep groove ball bearings have even smaller dimensions than thin section bearings of the 69 series with the same inner diameter. In relation to their inner diameter, they have an very small outer diameter and are hence very narrow. As a result, they can be installed on relatively large shaft and axle diameters, even in very tight spaces. They are very light and suitable for comparatively very high speeds.
- Rubber seals (RS/2RS) have the optimum sealing action with increased friction. Metal seals (Z/ZZ) are suitable for higher speeds, but they have a limited sealing action as they seal contactless. Open, seal-less bearings are suitable for extremely high speeds and - furthermore - they can be regreased more easily. However, they are more susceptible to soiling. | more
