Roller bearings — high load capacity in radial and axial direction

Roller bearings have rollers as rolling elements. Due to the larger contact surface of the rollers, compared to balls, they can withstand higher loads than ball bearings of the same size. Radial roller bearings are particularly suitable for radial loads. Axial roller bearings, also called longitudinal bearings, are designed to withstand forces working in the direction of the shaft.

Geometric structure of the roller bearing

Maximum permissible load capacity of the bearing based on the materials used and the geometric design.

Smooth-running bearings have low frictional resistance.

Resistance of the materials used in the bearing to water and other corrosive media.

Maximum permissible speed of the bearing.

Protection of the bearing from the ingress of foreign particles and liquids.

Highest ambient temperature at which the bearing can be used without restrictions

Lowest ambient temperature at which the bearing can be used without restrictions

The bearing clearance is the amount by which the two rings of a non-installed roller bearing can be displaced in relation to one another. There are different internal clearance classes. CN is "normal internal clearance" and is the best choice for many applications. C3, C4, ... indicates increased clearance. C2, C1, ... stands for reduced clearance.

Inner and outer ring material

Material of the rolling element (i.e. the balls or rollers)

Material of the cage (the cage holds the rolling elements in place)

Type of lubrication of the rolling bearing. Rolling bearings are usually either greased, oiled or dry.
