How do I assemble cast housing bearing sets?

Required Tools
  • A bench vice or screw clamps for fastening the housing if it has not already been assembled with bolts.
  • Sturdy round bar made of steel or wood.

    Tip: A wooden broomstick can be used for smaller bearings.

Preparation: The outer ring of the bearing insert or the bearing seat in the housing should be lubricated a little so that the bearing insert can be easily swiveled.

    1. The bearing inserts have a pin on the outer ring.

    1. The bearing insert is inserted into cast housing in such a way that the pin on the bearing lies in fitting slot of the housing.

  3. Now the bearing insert can be swiveled with a long lever.

  4. Now the housing bearing unit can be mounted. The bearing insert can still be swiveled in the housing, e.g. for fine adjustment.
